Bloggers turned Authors

Jun012010

The days are upon us where simply owning a popular blog doesn’t make you money.

Firstly there is Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV the popular wine podcast series. Gary has had a handful of successful online presences and released a book called Crush it to help people realizing how to cash in on what they love.

Next up we have REWORK. Rework is a book by the lovely folks at 37 Signals (Creators of successful web collaboration software Basecamp). After blogging for years on their Signal vs. Noise blog the book Rework was released to help others walk in the steps of 37 Signals and learn from their mistakes and successes.

Its not just social media experts and business people who turn blogs into successful books. Justin Halpern created a successful twitter stream from the hilarious rantings of his father. After very quickly gaining momentum he already has a book in stores and a movie deal (supposedly starring William Shatner).

Finally we have Bike Snob. The Bike Snob is a satirical cycling blogger who took the internet by storm. Only recently unmasked (for this book launch), his near superhero status lead to wild speculations of who he might be.

All this being said, I’ll let you know when my book comes out. I am sure it’ll be a wild success.
